What ForeCast Offers
Stay ahead of the flood.
ForeCast delivers short-term predictions of flood extent and depth as an operational, continuously updated data feed—integrated directly into your existing geographic information system (GIS).
With high-resolution, localized forecasts, you can plan ahead with confidence. Anticipate impact, prioritize limited resources, and act early to protect people, property, and infrastructure when every minute counts.
Why Choose ForeCast
ForeCast the impact, not just the water level
ForeCast goes beyond river gauges and rainfall totals to predict which people, properties and critical infrastructure at risk of flooding, and to what severity. With ForeCast you can:
Plan your response ahead of time
- Establish staging and operational locations in high risk areas
- Pre-emptively deploy swiftwater rescue teams to vulnerable locations and citizens
- Coordinate targeted and safe evacuations for communities
Communicate using a common operating picture
- Ensure clear egress routes to avoid first responders from becoming trapped
- Make people aware when essential services will be impacted and then restored
- Send localized and personalized alerts to communities most at risk
Deploy critical resources to assets most at risk
- Protect communities and assets with sandbags or rapid deployment dams
- Deploy emergency response teams to assist the most vulnerable people and locations
- Move emergency supplies and relief aid to staging areas to allow rapid response

Case Study
Beaudesert Floods 2021
Background
In March 2021, a low-pressure system caused high intensity rainfall which resulted in major flooding in the Logan River. This put hundreds of residents, their homes, and businesses at risk of potential flooding.
Problem
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) had received a major flood warning for river height between 8.30m and 14.76m. This uncertainty meant that QFES was unable to identify at-risk properties to plan evacuations.
Solution
FloodMapp ForeCast was ingested directly into QFES' ArcGIS system, allowing for targeted evacuations and door knocking, hours before the flood hit.
“What FloodMapp produced was really valuable and when matched with QFES mapping technology meant that disaster management agencies could immediately identify at risk properties. It also allowed us to print a list of properties and begin doorknocking in plenty of time to allow residents to prepare for the possible flood.”

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
General
What is FloodMapp's point of difference?
We offer a world-first model for scalable, real-time flood mapping. Our proprietary modelling software, DASH, delivers street level flood impact extents across whole states or countries.
Where current flood warnings advise of the time and height of a predicted flood peak, our model will predict which specific properties or assets on a street will be impacted or show those that currently are or were previously impacted.
FloodMapp’s products support all phases of the emergency management process, enabling situational awareness before, during and after a flood.
We’re different because we understand that every flood is different and dynamic. We focus on modelling all phases of a flood event to answer the questions "Where is it going to flood, and what people, property and critical infrastructure will be impacted?", "What is the extent of the flooding right now?" and "What was the maximum extent of the flood?"
We bridge the gap in situational awareness by providing automatic updates of flood impact extent every hour, 24/7, as the flood event unfolds.
What locations do you provide coverage in?
We have growing operational coverage in Australia and the United States, with new regions coming online each week. If you are interested in other areas of the world, please contact us to register your interest.
How accurate are your results?
Our products are built for emergency managers and their peers, with a focus on modelling flood extents in real-time to provide round-the-clock situational awareness.
We validate our models based on a variety of publicly and client-provided sources.
A large-scale review showed FloodMapp models correctly identify up to 85% of inundated properties, when compared to state government damage assessment datasets.
